Biography

Mama Elizabeth Anyango Ochieng was born on November 20, 1940, in Kisumu County. She was a pillar of strength in her community, known for her entrepreneurial spirit and generous heart.

Elizabeth ran a successful fish trading business at Kisumu Market for over 40 years. She was a founding member of the Kisumu Women's Savings Group, which empowered hundreds of women to start their own businesses.

She was a mother to six children, grandmother to fifteen, and great-grandmother to three. Mama Elizabeth was known for her delicious tilapia recipes and her beautiful singing voice in the church choir at ACK St. Stephen's Church.

Her home was always open to everyone, and she never let anyone leave hungry. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the entire Kisumu community.
